When schools and local authorities invest in our support, they often ask:

Does your support make a measurable difference?

Over the past four years, we've been asking the parents and professionals who know the children best to answer that question. The results have been overwhelmingly positive.

Between Summer 2022 and Summer 2026, members of staff from schools and colleges completed anonymous impact surveys following one-to-one Emotional Logic coaching delivered by the Exciting Education team.

The survey captured feedback for the work we had done with 654 children and young people, providing the largest collection of school-based Emotional Logic outcome data to date.

Supporting Children with the Greatest Need

The majority of pupils included in the survey had experienced significant adversity.

Many were:

  • Children in Care

  • Children with a Social Worker

  • Young people who had experienced trauma, loss or significant life challenges

The children attended a wide range of educational settings, including:

  • Primary schools

  • Secondary schools

  • Specialist provision

  • Post-16 settings

Schools were located across Cornwall, Devon, Plymouth and Torbay, representing a broad range of communities and socio-economic backgrounds. Most pupils attended between four and six one-hour coaching sessions.

The Results

School staff reported improvements across every area measured.

Behaviour

  • 87.5% reported an improvement in behaviour at school.

  • 76.2% reported improved behaviour at home.

For schools, improved behaviour means more than fewer incidents. It often reflects a child developing greater emotional awareness, improved communication skills and healthier ways of responding to challenge.

Learning

Emotional wellbeing and learning are closely connected. After our Emotional Logic coaching:

  • 85% of staff reported an improvement in pupils' ability to focus on learning.

When children spend less energy managing anxiety or emotional distress, they are better able to engage with education.

Attendance

Persistent absence remains one of the biggest challenges facing schools nationally.

Encouragingly:

  • 76.5% of pupils showed improved attendance following our support.

For many young people, school avoidance is a coping mechanism for underlying mental health or emotional needs, rather than a behavioural choice. Helping children understand and manage their emotions can remove significant barriers to attendance.

Relationships

Strong relationships are central to educational success.

Schools reported:

  • 86.8% improvement in relationships with peers.

  • 87.4% improvement in relationships with members of staff.

Positive relationships help children feel safer, more connected and more able to access learning.

Confidence and Anxiety

Perhaps the most encouraging findings relate to children's emotional wellbeing.

Schools reported:

  • 90.4% improvement in pupils' confidence.

  • 88.6% improvement in their ability to manage anxiety.

These are the foundations upon which many other improvements are built.

When children feel more confident and better equipped to manage difficult emotions, they are more likely to engage positively with school, friendships and family life.

Schools Want More Support

The survey also asked schools about future demand. The responses speak for themselves.

99.6% said they had other children who would benefit from our Emotional Logic coaching if funding were available.

97% said they would like staff to complete our Emotional Logic training.

Perhaps most significantly:

99.8% said they would recommend our Emotional Logic support to other schools.

Why These Results Matter

Behind every percentage is a child whose experience of school has changed.

A child who feels safer.

A young person attending school more often.

A pupil who is beginning to believe in themselves again.

A family experiencing less conflict at home.

A teacher who feels happier in the classroom.

These changes rarely happen through behaviour management alone. They happen when children are helped to understand their emotions, recognise their useful purposes and develop improved, effective bargaining skills for navigating life's challenges.

That is exactly what our specialist Emotional Logic support for children does.

Working Alongside Schools

Since 2015, Exciting Education has worked alongside schools, local authorities, Virtual Schools and fostering organisations to provide evidence-informed, emotional wellbeing support for children, families and professionals.

Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced headteachers, teachers, SEND specialists, social workers, foster carers and therapeutic practitioners who understand the realities of supporting vulnerable children.

Every intervention is designed not simply to address today's difficulties, but to build the emotional resilience children need for the future.

Looking Ahead

The findings from 654 pupils over four years provide encouraging evidence that Emotional Logic coaching can make a meaningful difference across behaviour, attendance, relationships, confidence, anxiety and learning.

As schools continue to face increasing levels of emotional need, investing in evidence-informed, early intervention has never been more important. If you would like to explore how our specialist school Emotional Logic coaching or staff training could support children, we'd love to hear from you.
