After years of working with children across a wide range of schools, our team are often asked: what difference do Emotional Logic sessions really make? The answer, it turns out, is both significant and far-reaching.

How Emotional Logic sessions make a difference
Improved behaviour: Most children not only behaved better at school but also brought that positive change home.
Greater focus on learning: Many children found it easier to concentrate in the classroom.
Boosted confidence and resilience: Most children felt more confident in themselves and were able to handle worries with increased ease.
Better attendance: It became more common to see these children turning up for school regularly, keen and ready to learn.
Stronger relationships: Children reported getting on better with their friends and teachers, creating a friendlier and more supportive environment.
What schools are saying about Emotional Logic
Almost every school we worked with would recommend Emotional Logic support to others, praising its positive impact.
Lots of schools also pointed out that more pupils could benefit from these sessions if only they had a bigger budget for support.
Many schools shared their hope that, given the opportunity, more of their teachers could be trained to use Emotional Logic themselves.
The story behind the data: How did we research the impact on attendance, relationships and learning?
Over the past three years, the Exciting Education team has supported hundreds of children who needed a helping hand. Once the sessions were complete, a staff member who knew each child well completed an in-depth survey to share what had changed for those children.
In total, the survey included 501 children from diverse backgrounds and experiences, aged between 8 and 18, who had taken part in special one-to-one sessions with a trained coach. Most of these young people had faced tough situations—the majority living in care or with difficult home lives. The schools taking part represented a diverse mix: primary, secondary, special schools, and colleges, in both urban and rural areas across Devon and Cornwall.
On average, each child took part in 4 to 6 sessions, each lasting up to an hour—providing the space and support they needed to start making real progress.
